QuiverQuant is primarily used for obtaining alternative data through their online dashboard and/or programmatically via the Quiver API.

Yes, QuiverQuant has an API called Quiver API that allows users to obtain data programmatically.

How to get started with QuiverQuant?

To get started with QuiverQuant, you can go over to their landing page and already start exploring the data that they have to offer. To unlock all free features, it is advisable to create an account as some features are locked without it.

To do so, click the “Sign Up” button in the upper right corner of your screen.

You will be presented with a new screen that will ask you to create a username and password and provide your email of choice. After that, a confirmation email will be sent. Once you log in to your QuiverQuant account, you can start exploring its features.

In the article below, we will do an overview of what QuiverQuant has to offer. Sadly, I don’t have the API keys to showcase how the API works.

How to get Congress data with QuiverQuant?

To get Congress data with QuiverQuant, you will need to navigate to the “Datasets” section in your upper menu bar, and on the left side, you should see a “Government” section. There you will find interesting dataset dashboards to explore such as the Congress Trading one.

These dashboards are interactive and allow you to filter for your particular interests. For example, let’s check which Congress members are trading MSFT. From the picture below, we can see a lot of bullish sentiment in Congress toward Microsoft.

How to get government contracts with QuiverQuant?

To get government contracts with QuiverQuant, you will want to navigate to the “Datasets” section in your upper menu toolbar, and under the Government section, you will find the Government Contracts dashboard.

This dashboard will present you with companies that received the most government contracts in the last 90 days and any recent contracts that occurred.

How to get corporate lobbying data with QuiverQuant?

To get corporate lobbying data with QuiverQuant, you will need to navigate to the “Datasets” section and select the “Behind The Curtain” dashboard that will show you which bills are being considered by Congress, which publicly traded companies are lobbying on those bills, and which congressmen have traded stock in those companies.

Each Bill is hyperlinked to its source in order to ensure the validity of what is presented. The downside of this dashboard is that there is no search option to get quicker to a particular Bill. It also lacks other filtering features to filter down to Bills that are lobbied by certain companies and etc.

How to get insider trading data with QuiverQuant?

To get insider trading data with QuiverQuant, navigate to the “Datasets” section in the upper menu bar, and under the SEC Filings section, you will find the Insider Trading dashboard. When there enter a stock of your choosing (e.g. MSFT) and observe the data.

You can also observe the largest recent purchases and sales, and recent executive buys in the general dashboard prior to picking your ticker of choice.

How to get meme stock rankings with QuiverQuant?

To get app meme stock rankings with QuiverQuant, navigate to the “Datasets” section on your upper menu bar, and under Consumer Interests you will find the Meme Stock Rankings dashboard. It uses data from WallStreetBets discussion and fails-to-deliver to generate a proprietary “Meme Score”.

The WallStreetBets Score is based on how many times a company has been mentioned on Reddit’s WallStreetBets forum over the last week. The Fails-to-Deliver Score is based on the ratio of median aggregate FTD over the last 60 days to shares outstanding.

How to get Google trends data with QuiverQuant?

To get Google trends data with QuiverQuant, go to the Datasets section, and under the Consumer Interest group you will find the Google Trends dashboard. It tracks the U.S. search interest for different companies over time and sees which ones are trending up and down.

The “trend score” is calculated by looking at the month-over-month change in search interest for a given company. You can also select to view trends for a particular company. For example, let’s check IBM.

How to get patent data with QuiverQuant?

To get patent data with QuiverQuant, go to the Datasets section, and under the Government grouping you will with the Patents dashboard that will allow you to search for patents by their keyword and company ticker.

For example, let’s search for electric vehicle as our keyword and then for HMC as the ticker:

How to get corporate flight data with QuiverQuant?

To get Wikipedia pageview data with QuiverQuant, you will navigate to the Datasets section, and under the “ESG and other” section you will find the Corporate Flights dashboard.

This data is obtained when an aircraft gets its location from a GPS navigation source such as a satellite, they emit a signal containing information on the location of the plane.

Then, third parties are able to pick up this signal, track the path of a plane, and evaluate where it is departing from and traveling to. By connecting this information with flight registration data, QuiverQuant is able to track the movement of corporate private jets.

How to get a company overview with QuiverQuant?

To get company overview data with QuiverQuant, all you need to do is to type in the company ticker in the upper right corner of QuiverQuant. This will show a unified dashboard of widgets taken from all dashboards for ease of use.

How to inspect QuiverQuant strategy performances?

To inspect QuiverQuant strategy performances you will need a premium subscription. But, as a free user, you can still see their overall performance and base metrics by navigating to the Premium section and selecting Strategies.
